Just 15 minutes from Cannes and 25 minutes from Nice, the property offers a taste of Provence at only minutes from the glamorous French Riviera coastline. Surrounded by a hectare of luscious gardens, the 300 year old country house has been both modernised and restored with meticulous care to combine understated, chic luxury with tradition and comfort. The propertys large swimming pool, boules piste, cuisine dété, huge terraces for outside dining and entertaining, grounds, coffee lounge, dining room and professional standard kitchen can all be enjoyed by guests during their stay.

Bastide St Mathieu is once again available for private rental for Weddings and Events, a dream location on the French Riviera / Cote DAzur: It is a very beautiful and romantic private Bastide
it suits those who want in effect to invite their guests chez nous, as if it is their own home on the Riviera; it suits those who want an extended house party type of event/weekend rather than those who want a big prominent hotel or restaurant. There is room for 16-18 people to stay in the Bastide, all in seriously grown-up rooms decorated in exciting style and each representing one of the great characters of the French Riviera / Cote DAzur such as Cole Porter, Coco Chanel and Sisi, the Empress of Austria; there is room for 150+ on the terraces for the dinner and many small and bigger hotels and gites for other guests to stay within a few minutes. There are also several suitable villas for rooms or other families. The cost of all the rooms is included in the hire of the venue
.so the wedding venue itself is substantially subsidised.
It works best for those who want a weekend or week here on the Cote DAzur / French Riviera, which is why we usually offer only weekly or weekend rates. We rent you the Bastide and then you plan and decide everything to do with the event and surrounding party. We do have several excellent caterers who know the Bastide well and you can also use either of our very expert independent wedding planners.
Hours for music: The Bastide is in a secluded residential area. Although no neighbouring houses are visible we are very careful to ensure that we do disturb the beautiful neighbourhood. But as the Grand salon opening onto the terrace dining area has huge thick stone walls the music for dancing can be well contained. This provides a very attractive environment for a dance party.

Bastide St. Mathieu is a luxury villa on the French Riviera / Cote DAzur available for private family of group rental throughout the year.

Rental includes full privatisation of the Bastide (excluding the separate studio accommodation behind the main house, which is not for rental).
Conferences
Apart from our stunning accommodation, we offer an ideal venue for product launches, corporate workshops, meetings and small seminars. The south-facing, double volume, open plan function venue extends onto a patio, garden and a covered dining area allowing easy flow and convenient social interaction.
The facility can also be utilised for more intimate events, including private parties and year end functions. Whether its an afternoon tea or a five-course dinner, the Bastide St Mathieu will cater to your individual needs.
Half and full day packages are available with optional catering. Meal and snack times can be specially catered for and normally include an arrival coffee / tea, lunch, snacks and refreshments.

Grasse & Surrounding Areas
The Bastide is located in Grasse, on the French Riviera / Cote DAzur, a town long affiliated with the perfume industry since the late 18th century. Located only 15 kms from Cannes and a 30 minute drive from Nices international airport, as you appraoch the town the famous terracotta rooftops peak out from lush, green terraced hills at an altitude of 300-400m. Wander through ancient streets and winding alleys that still waft with the aromoas of lavendar and jasmine or make your way to the towns Pointe du vue (viewing point) and take in the breathtaking view over the town and surrounding hills. Notable tourist attractions are the 10th century Notre Dame du Puy Cathedrael (that houses works by Ruebens), the Tour du Guet watchtower and Place aux aires the old market square with its three tierd fountain. Theres plenty to visit for perfume lovers Galimard and Fragonard both have displays and giftshops in the centre of town whilst the International Perfume Museum takes you on a fasninating journey in the history evolution of techniques used to produce perfume over hundreds of years. There is a museum that displays a terrific collection of paintings by the artist Jean-Honore Fragonard (1732-1806).
Nearby villages worth visiting are Plascassier, which was where Edith Piaf lived up to her death in October 1963 and the celebrated Amercian TV chef Julia Child built a house which she regularly visited, entertaining the her many illustrious culinary friends. 10 minutes from the Bastide is the charming village of Valbonne (meaning Good Valley). This is a village perché but on the side rather than the top of a hill. This ancient gem retains much of its 16th century charm and the central square Place des Arcades, is a compulsory spot to stop by for some delicious French cuisine and feel the warm breeze of history that echoes around the old buildings. Many restaurants surround the square and hide in the back streets; kids play in the square while parents dine. Friday market is a draw from all over the area; even bigger is the monthly antique/bric a brac market ob the first Sunday of each month.
The French Riviera / Cote DAzur
Sizzling sun, super yachts, artists, film festivals, gorges, mountains, caves and of course, the Mediterranean sea. Visitors could be forgiven for feeling slightly overwelmed on thinking where to start when it comes to seeking the ultimate French Riviera experience. The sheer persity of the area is itself one of the great delights.
For those who want to sip chilled Rose and dine with the rich and famous overlooking marinas and beaches there are ample towns and cities along the sun drenched coasts that each have their own charm and beauties. Monaco is probably one of the most famous - a tax free haven for high flying business people and celebrities, and of course home to its own very own royal family, the Grimaldis, with their impressive palace. If it is a slightly quiter and humble visit youre after, there are a plethora of sleepy hill top towns further inland, many of which attracted artists and writers such as Picasso, Van Gough, Aldous Huxley, Auguste Renoir and Matisse during the 19th and 20th centuries, many of whom, were drawn by the rich colours, clear light and inspiring landscapes.
